Amsterdam Light Festival is a winter light festival for all. For fifty days, the historical center of Amsterdam will present a unique décor for this international light and water festival. Corresponding to the theme, ‘Building with Light’, 30 light sculptures and projections by international artists have been selected for this second edition. The boat tour, Water Colors, will exhibit artworks along, in, and above the Amstel River, while the walking route, Illuminade, will take place in the center of the city. The festival emanates light during the darkest period of the year and ‘enlightens’ the audience with colorful and engaging artworks.
Amsterdam Light Festival will take place from Friday 6 December 2013 to Sunday 19 January 2014.

Amsterdam Light Festival is het winterse lichtfestijn voor jong en oud. De historische binnenstad van Amsterdam is ruim 50 winterdagen het sfeervolle decor voor dit internationale licht- en waterfestival. Het festival toont verschillende lichtsculpturen en projecties van hedendaagse (internationale) kunstenaars in de openbare ruimte met als thema ‘Building with Light’. De vaarroute, Water Colors, toont alle kunstwerken langs, in en boven de Amstel. De wandelroute, Illuminade, vindt plaats in de Amsterdamse binnenstad. Het festival brengt licht gedurende de donkerste periode van het jaar en ‘verlicht’ het publiek met kleurrijke kunstwerken.
Het festival vindt plaats van vrijdag 6 december 2013 t/m zondag 19 januari 2014.
